William Adams has been associated with Caterpillar for over 90 years serving the Victorian and Tasmanian Civil, Construction, Quarrying and Mining sectors. Over that period many thousands of machines have been sold and of course the maintenance and servicing of those pieces of equipment require a considerable inventory of spare parts, ranging in size from a ripper arm for a D10 to an O-ring for a hydraulic motor for a small excavator. These spares are generally housed in the busy Clayton premises.
The floor as shown was showing signs of distress and was causing severe damage and downtime to forklift wheels.
RCW provided a floor repair solution to suit modern day small herd wheeled electric forklifts which were not performing to capacity on the aging concrete slabs.
Repaired construction joint ensuring seamless load transfer of forklift loads. The picking aisle was in use 8 hours after the completion of the repair.
To suit the repair required in various floor locations, RCW used a mixture of , fast setting polyurea and cementitious repair products. Daily co-ordination occurred with the warehouse manager and work occurred selectively in designated aisles to suit stock picking requirements. Dust from operations was kept to a minimal level due to the use of integrated vacuums with HEPA filters attached to all tools. Once the repairs were completed in an aisle, CAT staff were back up and operational within 24 hours due to the rapid curing properties of the repair products used.
